Biography:

In addition to his position as the Chief of Medicine for Holyoke Medical Center, Dr. Robert Cooper is the director of the center's Endocrine Center for Excellence and director of Ultrasound Thyroid Biopsy/Fine Needle Aspiration Clinic.

He received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1992 and completed his residency at Long Island Jewish Hospital. Dr. Cooper completed a fellowship in cardiology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1995 and fellowships in endocrinology at Long Island Jewish Hospital (1997) and Winthrop University Hospital (1998).

He has served on a number of committees, including those for quality assurance, practice care assessment and radiation safety. He was lecturer and preceptor for The Endocrine Society's Thyroid Ultrasound Certification Course.
